Sessions

Our football academy provides intense football training sessions using high-quality training drills, reward systems and matches to monitor and drive performance. Our football academy is for 6-16-year-olds.

Our training is built on integrity, discipline, and tempo - that is at the heart of everything that we do. What is most important to the coaches and staff at GND Football Academy is a playful attitude and player welfare. Our main aim is to ensure that players can play to the best of their abilities unhampered by on or off-field concerns. We support them with the tools to develop mental resilience, but also want them to be empowered and understand how to manoeuvre when they are presented with a challenge. The players who need more concentrated support can schedule our lighter touch mentoring sessions, our step-up life coaching sessions, or our more intense sports counselling sessions.

League matches

We are part of the Hackney Marshes Saturday Youth Football League (HMSYL). Hackney Marshes Saturday Youth Football League was awarded the Grassroots League of the Year 2020/21 by the English Football Association. It is a nationally renowned league, it is the spiritual home of amateur football and was an important grassroots starting point for some of the stars of the professional game including household names such as David Beckham, John Terry and Sol Campbell.

We know that the HMSYL has produced at least 50 professional players and 5 professional coaches who have all played and coached at the highest level of the professional game. Therefore this league gives the best opportunity for players to be recognised and rewarded for their talent. We are a Charter Standard club which means we represent the highest standards of the Football Association and the HMSYL looks at these clubs before anyone else.

Awards ceremony

We have an end of year presentation to recognise and celebrate achievement and also to motivate players to continue achieving. Awards are symbols of achievement, hard work, professional success, and personal goals reached. They are a motivation to reach for even higher levels of success. They provide a tangible reminder of what is possible and an opportunity for team members to support and congratulate each other for their accomplishments.

Player representation

Our elite players are often referred to professional clubs, scouts and intermediaries, where they are also managed by GND, provided with 1:1 football coaching and given a tailored food plan.
